Hi, I'm Tijan, the maker behind Wood & Proper, a born-and-raised South Londoner, creating intricately designed laser-cut maps that celebrate the places that mean the most to you.

With a background in geology, sustainability and data visualisation, I started this business out of a love of maps, design, and the stories places hold. Plus, it's a handy solution to friends constantly asking for Christmas, birthday, and wedding presents.

A bit about the maps

​

Each piece begins as a detailed digital design before being loaded into the laser cutter where a high-powered beam cuts and engraves multiple layers of material. Each map is then carefully placed together by hand to bring your chosen place to life.​

Every map is made with care, precision and a touch of obsession, from my living room to yours.​​​ Oh, and I also make tables out of tree stumps from time to time, because who doesn't love using a chainsaw and an orbital sander?!
